Accountancy practice

Numbers kept straight, in plain language.

We look after the year-end accounts, tax returns and day-to-day bookkeeping for owner-managed businesses — and we explain what the figures mean before anything is due.

A small practice by choice. You work with the same person each year, and you can reach them without going through a queue.

Services

Four things we do properly

Rather than offer everything, we keep to the work that most owner-managed businesses actually need each year.

01

Year-end accounts

Statutory accounts prepared, reviewed with you, then filed — with a short summary of what changed since last year.

  • Limited company accounts
  • Sole trader and partnership
  • Filing handled end to end
02

Tax returns

Corporation tax and self assessment prepared early, so you know the figure well before the payment date arrives.

  • Corporation tax returns
  • Self assessment
  • Allowance and relief checks
03

Bookkeeping & VAT

Monthly or quarterly bookkeeping kept tidy in your software, with VAT returns reconciled and submitted on schedule.

  • Monthly reconciliations
  • VAT return preparation
  • Payroll coordination
04

Advisory

Sessions for the decisions that sit outside the annual cycle — pricing, drawings, hiring, or whether to incorporate.

  • Cash flow planning
  • Structure and drawings
  • Budgets and forecasts
How we work

A steady rhythm, not a scramble

The same three stages for every client, whether you are switching practices or registering a business for the first time.

Intro call

Half an hour to hear how the business runs, what records you keep and which deadlines are coming. You leave with a written scope and a fixed annual fee — no obligation either way.

Onboarding

We collect what we need, request records from your previous accountant if there is one, and set up the software so the first month closes cleanly. You approve everything before it moves.

Ongoing

Books kept current, returns prepared ahead of time, and a short review each quarter. If something needs a decision, we raise it while there is still room to decide.

What you get in writing

Everything agreed before work starts

Scope, fee, deadlines and who does what — set out once and revisited only if the business changes. No hourly billing for a phone call, and no invoice you did not expect.

Who we help

Built for businesses run by their owners

We work best with people who are close to the numbers but would rather not spend their evenings on them. If your accounts are straightforward and you want them handled without fuss, we are a good fit.

  • Limited companies with one to twenty staff Trades, studios, consultancies and small agencies
  • Sole traders and partnerships Including first-year registrations and side businesses turning full time
  • Landlords with a small portfolio Property income reported alongside your self assessment
  • Businesses switching accountants We handle the handover request and the records that come with it
Questions

Asked before the first call

If yours is not here, put it in the enquiry form and we will answer it directly.

Can I switch accountants partway through the year?

Yes. We write to your current accountant for the handover, collect the records and pick up from where things stand. Most switches are settled within a couple of weeks and you do not need to have an awkward conversation yourself.

How do you keep me ahead of deadlines?

We work to internal dates that sit well before the statutory ones, and we tell you what we need and when. If a document is outstanding you will hear from us early rather than the week before filing.

Which bookkeeping software do you work with?

The mainstream cloud packages are all fine, and we are happy to keep the one you already use. If you are starting from spreadsheets, we will set something up during onboarding and show you the handful of things you need to do each month.

How are fees worked out?

A fixed annual fee based on the scope we agree at the intro call, payable monthly or in one go. Questions during the year are included — we would rather you ask than guess.

Do we have to meet in person?

Not unless you would like to. Most clients work with us entirely by call and email, with records shared through the software. Reviews are just as useful over video.
